The DuraLabel PRO and DuraLabel PRO 300 (also sold as the LabPRO) are locked-out thermal transfer label printers. The DuraLabel PRO series of printers is actually a re-branded printer, not manufactered by Graphic Products, the makers of the DuraLabel series.

The supply locking on the DuraLabel PRO is an addition to the original equipment, added at the request of Graphic Products and implemented by the OEM. A Skytek M1 RFID module was used for the supply locking, and RFID tags are hidden on each cardboard supply core, under the rolled vinyl. The DuraLabel PRO has been fully disassembled by our engineers and the parts for the supply locking have been confirmed.
DuraLabel PRO is locked, why does it matter?
With a locked-out DuraLabel Pro, you are seriously limited. Before buying a DuraLabel Pro, or any DuraLabel series printer, consider the following:
- DuraLabel PRO printers are designed to work only with supplies from one source. Luckily, options are available for current owners.
- DuraLabel PRO printers are really just a re-branded printer made by another company. You can get the same printer without the locking!
- If you buy a DuraLabel PRO, you're buying from a company that doesn't want you to shop around. They've spent money to prevent it.
- DuraLabel doesn't have to earn your business, or provide great service to keep it, you're locked in.
- With DuraLabel PRO, custom or 3rd party supplies are out of the question (unless you use reliable reseller!)
